My Favorite Smoothie Combos

IMG_3987.jpg

My mom always made me the best smoothies in to-go coffee cups when I was in high school, but looking back, they were probably not the most nutritious, and they were a little crunchy because she always threw in some chocolate chips…

The smoothies I make now are less crunchy and more functional, but they still can be pretty decadent! I try to take Vital Proteins Collagen every day, but generally fail unless it’s in a smoothie (or coffee/tea). Because of that, I have tried so many smoothie combinations, that my highlight on IG became too challenging for me to keep up with. I don’t think any of these are revolutionary, and as always most of my measurements are approximate, but they might give you some ideas. Here are some of my favorites:

*the ingredients should go into the blender in this order

PB & J

Handful of fresh or frozen greens (spinach, kale, power green mixes, etc)

½ banana

About ½ cup berries of choice (strawberries or blueberries)

Heaping tbsp of peanut butter, PB Fit, or other nut butter of choice

Cinnamon

Add-ins of choice like chia seeds, hemp seeds, collagen, etc.

Nut milk or water (or water + ¼ cup cashews)

Refreshing Green Smoothie

Celery

Handful of fresh or frozen greens

Half a banana

Pineapple or mango (or both!)

Scoop of matcha

Add-ins of choice like chia seeds, hemp seeds, collagen, etc.

Coconut water or regular water

Golden Smoothie

½ Frozen Banana

½ cup frozen riced cauliflower (florets could work depending on your blender)

2 dates

Mango and/or pineapple

Turmeric

Add-ins of choice like chia seeds, hemp seeds, collagen, etc.

Nut milk or water (or water + ¼ cup cashews)

Blueberry Cobbler

½ frozen banana

1/2 cup frozen blueberries

½ cup frozen riced cauliflower (florets could work depending on your blender)

2 dates

1 heaping tbsp almond butter

Cinnamon

Add-ins of choice like chia seeds, hemp seeds, collagen, etc.

Nut milk or water (or water + ¼ cup cashews)

I add more or less liquid based on how thick or thin I want my smoothie that day. You can also add ice to thicken it up, but you’ll probably find you don’t need it with frozen fruits and veggies. Smoothies do not usually fill me up, so when my smoothies are in bowl form, I love adding granola or my favorite cereal to complement. Believe it or not, even Cheerios work well!

Let me know your favorite smoothie combo so I can try it out!!

xoxo,

Haley
