Blood Orange Mules
I like to think of myself as my family’s resident experimental mixologist. It’s easy to experiment when I have access to my mom’s liquor cabinet(s). Unfortunately, I’m not very good. But when I do make something good, it’s really good.
Enter: Blood Orange Mules. The show-stopper in this drink is the blood orange liqueur, Solerno. Sweet and citrusy, it makes a great complement to a limey Moscow Mule.
Blood orange and other citrus flavors may be traditional winter flavors, but I find nothing more refreshing than an icy cold drink or an orange straight from the fridge. It’s kind of like having orange slices after a soccer game...except for adults!
Ingredients (makes 1 mule):
1 shot vodka
½ shot Solerno blood orange liqueur
Juice of ½ lime
Crabbies ginger beer
Blood Orange (sliced) for garnish
Ice
Scoop a generous amount of ice in a copper mug (or any glass). Add 1 shot vodka, ½ shot Solerno blood orange liqueur, and squeeze ½ a lime into your mug. Top with Crabbie’s ginger beer and stir. Add a blood orange slice for garnish.
Hope you enjoy! Let me know if you make these and tag me on Instagram @milanocooky with your creation!
